Isn’t 3D printing just the best hobby? You can literally turn a roll of plastic into a full size Iron Man suit in just a few weeks with some hard work and a lot of sanding. Some people might even say it’s magic, and by some people I mean myself.
There seems to be a misconception out there in the wild that 3D printing is extremely expensive but this really couldn’t be further from the truth. You can pick up an amazing starter printer for less than $200! I realize not everyone has this kind of money readily available but if you can manage to pick one up (or have one already) you need to see the things you can print for FREE below:
1. Iron Man mark 39 (Starboost) full suit – FREE
Yup, that’s right. You can print your very own Iron Man mark 39 (Starboost), like the one pictured above, for FREE. Although its not the most famous Iron Man armor, it does make a very brief appearance in Iron Man 3 towards the end of the movie, and I for one, love the whole black, white and gold color theme it’s got going on. Obviously, you will have to pay for the filament, paint etc. but the file itself is completely free.
2. Green Goblin Helmet – FREE
The Green Goblin from Sam Raimi’s Spider-man franchise is as OG as they come. The iconic design of the helmet wasn’t to everyone’s taste but it definitely appealed to me. Sure, it looked a little goofy but it does bring me back to simpler times when we didn’t have the vast array of Superhero talent we see on the big screen these days.
3. Black Panther Civil War Helmet – FREE
After the sad passing of Chadwick Boseman earlier this year, this file was made free so that fans around the world could celebrate the life of Chadwick by printing their very own Black Panther helmet. I’d like to think that each helmet printed helps to ensure that Chadwick’s work as The Black Panther will live on for a long time even after his death.
4. Iron Bat Helmet – FREE
You like Iron Man right? and how about Batman? you like him too. Then how about Iron Bat? Iron Bat is a slick design incorporating the best of both worlds. It is essentially a mean looking Iron Man Helmet with some Batman ears but I’m definitely not complaining. Looks good right?
5. Power Rangers Helmet – FREE
The final free file I present to you is the helmet of the blue Power Ranger. If my 10 year old self could see this he would most certainly break down in tears. OK, I lied, I did that anyway (even at 31 years old). This is perfect for any fan of the Power Rangers growing up or even today.
6. (Bonus) Iron Man mark 85 full suit
OK this one isn’t free but I just had to include it as a bonus file. The Iron Man Mark 85 suit from Avengers Endgame. I’m not sure how much to say about this one, just look at it and make your own mind up. Of course if you’re happy to stick with the free files then that’s all good too. Happy printing!
