In a recent interview with Variety, The Amazing Spider-man actor Andrew Garfield spoke about the possibility of him returning as Peter Parker in future Spider-man movies.

With Tom Holland still doing his thing over at Marvel Studios, Sony may look to cease the opportunity to get Garfield back as part of their Sony Spider-man Universe – which funnily enough currently doesn’t have a Spider-man.

So far, Sony’s aforementioned Universe only consists of two movies – Venom and Venom Let There Be Carnage. However, the studio are looking to expand quickly with the likes of Morbius and Kraven The Hunter films to come.

Characters like Rhino, Sandman, Black Cat and Spider-Gwen are also heavily rumored to be in early development but still unconfirmed as of now.

Andrew Garfield on returning as Spider-man

When asked about returning as Spider-man, this is what Andrew Garfield had to say on the matter:

I mean, yes, definitely open to something if it felt right. Peter and Spider-Man, those characters are all about service, to the greater good and the many. He’s a working-class boy from Queens that knows struggle and loss and is deeply empathetic. I would try to borrow Peter Parker’s ethical framework in that, if there was an opportunity to step back in and tell more of that story, I would have to feel very sure and certain in myself.

Based on the feedback from the internet it’s certainly something the fans want. ‘Make The Amazing Spider-man 3’ even trended on Twitter a few weeks back.
