Optimus Prime and Megatron origins

Optimus Prime came to be when a clerk named Orion Pax, who worked in the Iacon Hall of Records, had been learning a lot about Cybertron’s past. He grew concerned about the government’s corruption and unequal treatment of citizens.
It was then that he encountered a gladiator named Megatronus (who would eventually be nicknamed Megatron), who was determined to challenge the government and ensure that all Cybertronians were treated as equals. Megatronus had changed his name after one of the 13 original Primes and had quickly gained a loyal following, with Soundwave being a key member. Orion and Megatronus started to become friends, with Megatronus becoming something of a mentor to Orion.
Megatronus eventually presented his vision for a just society to the High Council but it was here that he began to reveal his true colors. He arrogantly demanded to be named the next Prime, which Orion did not believe was the right way to achieve justice. The sparks and minds of the Council were moved by Orion’s words and recognized him as a Prime-worthy individual.
However, Megatronus was not pleased and spitefully cut ties with the Council and Orion. He formed an army of Decepticons and vowed to find the Matrix of Leadership, wherever it may lie. This would lead to a great war that would poison Cybertron to its core.
Orion made his way to Cybertron in the hopes of reversing the damage done and found himself before the spark of our life-giver, Primus. Primus sensed the innate nobility within Orion and bestowed the Matrix of Leadership upon him, thus transforming Orion Pax into Optimus Prime, the last of the Primes.
