Wolverine is one of the most popular Marvel characters that is yet to join the MCU. Now that the complicated rights issue between Disney and Fox is a thing of the past, it’s only a matter of time before Logan makes his presence felt alongside some of our favorite heroes.
Hugh Jackman expertly played the character in the Fox Universe for a number of years before he eventually met his demise in 2017’s Logan. Now it’s time for somebody new. And someone that has long been fan cast in the role is Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe.
Daniel Radcliffe as MCU Wolverine?

If your first thoughts are “absolutely not”, you’re not alone, but it kind of makes sense. Fans have long been asking for a comic-accurate version of Logan and Radcliffe might just fit the bill.
One of the biggest gripes fans had when Jackman was first cast was the actors height. The Gratest Showman star stands a towering 6 feet 3 inches tall. An entire foot taller than the comic version of the character who comes in at a miniscule (in comparison) 5 feet 3 inches. Daniel Radcliffe is of similar height at 5 feet 5 inches tall.
It’s not only height that makes this feasible though. Fans shouldn’t be so quick to judge actors based off previous fantasy roles they have played. Look no further than The Batman star Robert Pattinson as the perfect example. When that casting was announced, it was met with widespread criticism from the vast majority of long time Batman fans. Fast forward to the present day and after just one performance as the caped crusader, fans are praising his portrayal as the best ever. Could Daniel Radcliffe pull of a similar feat as Wolverine?
Radcliffe responds to the rumors
When Radcliffe was recently asked about the Wolverine rumors by comicbook.com, he admitted that he has heard of them.
So many people come up to me like, ‘Hey man, I heard the Wolverine news, that’s really cool.’ And I’m like, ‘Mate, it’s not, I don’t know anything about it.’
Like, I appreciate that somebody has clearly gone, ‘Wolverine is actually short in the comic books, we should get a short guy to do it.’ But I don’t see them going from Hugh Jackman to me afterward, but who knows. Prove me wrong, Marvel.
Daniel Radcliffe on Wolverine rumors
Could Radcliffe really be the new Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Only time will tell but with the Multiverse now in full flow, it isn’t outside the realms of possibility. Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness is a movie that is rumored to feature a number of character variants meaning it’s possible we could find out as early as May if there is any truth to the rumor.
As always, thanks for reading.
