Darth Vader retuning in Ahsoka series

Darth Vader will appear in the Ahsoka series on Disney Plus

Darth Vader is arguably the most infamous and iconic villain of all time. Before his transition to the Dark Side though, he was simply known as Anakin Skywalker. Played by Hayden Christensen in two of the three Star Wars prequel movies, we got to see him transition from young Padawan to evil Sith Lord. According to THR, Christensen is now returning to the role of Anakin Skywalker in the Ahsoka series which will start filming in early 2022.

While Hayden Christensen was already confirmed to return for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, this will come as welcome news for Star Wars fans around the world. More Darth Vader is always a good thing. Unless you’re a Jedi Youngling of course.

The character of Ahsoka Tano was the Jedi apprentice of Anakin Skywalker. Although we’ve never seen them together in a Star Wars live action series or movie, Anakin and Ahsoka have a very strong connection. It’s something die hard Star Wars fans have been waiting years to see. And now it’s finally happening.

No details have yet been provided as to how exactly Anakin will feature in the series. The show is set around the same time as The Mandalorian which is approximately 5 years after the events of Return of the Jedi. An important piece of information to consider because Darth Vader is already dead based on this timeline. Therefore, it’s likely we could Anakin appear as a Force Ghost or maybe in some flash back scenes.

Once the news broke, Ahsoka actress Rosario Dawson was unable to hide her excitement and posted immediately on social media. “Skyguy,…They know!!! See you soon, Snips”.

The series will be written by Star Wars fan-favorite Dave Filoni while Jon Favreau will return to the fold as Executive Producer.
