Emilia Clarke will play Veranke in Marvel’s Secret Invasion. This is according to reliable insider MyTimeToShineHello who revealed the information on Twitter.

Who is Veranke?

According to the Marvel Encyclopedia Veranke is “A Skrull princess from Tyeranx 7 province, planet Satriani, Veranke challenged King Dorrek for ignoring Skrull prophecies. She was banished for her trouble. After Galactus devoured the Skrull homeworld and the Annihilation Wave destroyed most of the empire, Veranke was seen as a visionary and elevated to queen. She declared that Earth was to be the new Skrull homeworld and so launched the Secret Invasion. As part of this, she replaced Spider-Woman just before the reformation of the Avengers. At the climax of the Secret Invasion, she was killed by Norman Osborne, the Green Goblin.”

It’s not clear at this point how far Marvel will deviate from this storyline for her introduction to the MCU, however it’s almost guaranteed to differ in some ways.
