Marvel 2022

Everything coming from MARVEL in 2022

Marvel have had a super successful 2021. All topped off by the roaring success that is Spider-man No Way Home. However, they’re not stopping there. Here is everything coming from Marvel in 2022.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (May 6th, 2022)

Doctor Strange
Doctor Strange (Marvel Studios)

With the Marvel Multiverse saga now well and truly underway, expect this movie to be the craziest of them all. The confirmed cast already includes the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch.

Marvel newcomer Xochitl Gomez will also be joining the MCU as America Chavez to help Doctor Strange sort out his Multiversal shenanigans.

Strong rumors have also surfaced online about various cameos that fans can expect to see in the movie.

Thor Love and Thunder (July 8th, 2022)

News on Thor: Love and Thunder has been unusually quiet over the past few months. The movie will see Chris Hemsworth reprise his role as the titular character Thor Odinson.

When we last saw Thor, he had joined the Guardians of The Galaxy on their adventures throughout the Universe. The Guardians have also been confirmed to show up in the upcoming blockbuster which can only be a good thing.

Natalie Portman is reprising her role as Jane Foster in the film however this time she will also be taking on the role of The Mighty Thor.

Christian Bale has been cast as Gorr The God Butcher who will act as the main villain.

Black Panther Wakanda Forever (November 11th 2022)

Black Panther Wakanda Forever is a bit of a mystery at the moment. After the sad passing of Chadwick Boseman in 2020, it’s unclear how Marvel will move forward with T’Challa’s story. However it’s managed, I’m sure Marvel will provide a fitting tribute to the legacy of Boseman.

Filming was recently temporarily halted after lead actress Letitia Wright sustained injuries on set meaning that it will come as no surprise if the release date is pushed out until 2023.

When the film is eventually released though, it’s strongly rumored that fans can expect to see a new Black Panther crowned by the end of the movie.

Moon Knight (TBA – Expected March 2022)

Who is moon knight
Moon Knight

Moon Knight is the first Disney+ series on this list but not the last. The series will feature Marc Spector aka Moon Knight, played by Oscar Isaac. Moon Knight is a character that non-comic book readers won’t be too familiar with but he is an incredibly compelling character. Spector struggles with dissociative identity disorder so expect this to play a key role in the plot.

Based on the early teaser footage from the series, it’s expected to be more violent and brutal than what has come before it.

She-Hulk (TBA)

No release date has been provided for She-Hulk yet, however we did get a sneak peak at the series on Disney+ day.

The series will feature Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk with Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) and Tim Roth (Abomination) also confirmed to be returning.

The series is expected to be more comedic in nature than previous Disney+ shows and is also rumored to include Walters breaking the fourth wall on multiple occasions. Even jokingly speaking directly to Marvel boss Kevin Feige at one point.

Ms.Marvel (TBA – Expected between July to September 2022)

Ms.Marvel is set up to be a huge series for Marvel as she will the first Muslim superhero in the MCU. Kamala Khan aka Ms.Marvel will be played by Iman Vellani.

The series will follow the 16 year old Pakistani-American growing up in Jersey City who is obsessed with superheroes, especially Captain Marvel. But eventually Khan becomes like those that she is inspired by when she receives super powers of her own.

After the success that was Spider-man into the Spiderverse, a sequel was inevitable. The first movie even received an Oscar for best animated feature in 2019.

Shameik Moore will return as the voice of Miles Morales with Hailee Steinfeld signing on once more to voice Gwen Stacey / Spider-woman. Oscar Isaac will voice Miguel O’Hara aka Spider-man 2099 who is an alternate version of Spider-man from the future.

Morbius (January 20th, 2022)

After Venom and Venom Let there be Carnage, Morbius is next up to join Sony’s Spider-man Universe.

The movie will be the first Marvel movie released in 2022 and will star Jared Leto as Biochemist Michael Morbius. Throughout the events of the movie, Morbius inadvertently infects himself with a form of vampirism while trying to cure a rare blood disease.
