Everything you need to know about Marvel Studios new Movies and TV series

Disney recently held an Investors day in which they announced a mountain of new projects including Movie, TV series and everything in between. Here is everything you need to know about the announcements:

1. The Fantastic Four are coming to the MCU

We really don’t have much details on this one yet except for the announcement itself, but hey, that’s good enough for me right now. What we do know is that Jon Watts will direct the new feature film for Marvel’s First Family, Fantastic Four!

2. We know who Christian Bale will play in Thor: Love and Thunder

Academy Award-winning actor Christian Bale will join the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder as the villain Gorr the God Butcher. The movie which also stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, will feature Chris Pratt from Guardians of the Galaxy. The movie hits theaters May 6, 2022. 

3. Mark Ruffalo will feature in She-Hulk

She-Hulk

Tatiana Maslany will portray Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk and Tim Roth returns as the Abomination and Hulk himself, Mark Ruffalo, will appear in the series. Directed by Kat Coiro and Anu Valia, with Jessica Gao as head writer, She-Hulk is coming to Disney Plus.

4. Captain Marvel 2 is confirmed

Brie Larson returns as Carol Danvers in Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel 2, directed by Nia DaCosta. Joining the cast are recently announced Ms. Marvel, Iman Vellani, and Monica Rambeau played by WandaVision’s Teyonah Parris.

Captain Marvel 2 will hit theaters Nov. 11, 2022

5. Antman and The Wasp Quantumania’s big bad will be Kang the Conquerer

Peyton Reed is back to direct the third Ant-Man film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Michelle Pfeiffer all return. Kathryn Newton joins the cast as Cassie Lang and Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror. There are also rumors that Kang the Conquerer will appear the upcoming series, Loki.

6. Baby Groot will star in a series of shorts on Disney Plus

I am Groot

Everyone’s favorite little tree, Baby Groot, will star in a series of shorts on Disney+ featuring several new and unusual characters.

I Am Groot, an Original Series from Marvel Studios, will be exclusively streaming on Disney Plus.

7. Ironheart announced

Coming soon to Disney Plus, Dominique Thorne is genius inventor Riri Williams in Ironheart, an Original Series about the creator of the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.

8. Hawkeye cast update

Original Avenger Jeremy Renner returns to star as Hawkeye, teaming up with well-known archer from Marvel comics, Kate Bishop played by the amazing Hailee Steinfeld.

Additional cast include Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez with episodes directed by Rhys Thomas and directing duo Bert and Bertie.

Hawkeye is heading to Disney Plus.

9. Secret Invasion coming to Disney Plus

Samuel L. Jackson is back as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn from Captain Marvel returns as the Skrull Talos in Marvel Studios’ Original Series Secret Invasion. Coming to Disney Plus.

10. War Machine returns in Armor Wars

Don Cheadle returns as James Rhodes aka War Machine in Armor Wars, an Original Series coming to Disney Plus. A classic Marvel story about Tony Stark’s worst fear coming true: what happens when his tech falls into the wrong hands?

11. Marvel Studios: Legends

Marvel Studios: Legends is a new series that revisits some of the most iconic moments from the MCU, one character at a time. Kicking off with Wanda Maximoff and Vision, the first two episodes start streaming Jan. 8, exclusively on Disney Plus.

12. Guardians of The Galaxy Holiday Special

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. James Gunn is back to write and direct. Unfortunately, this will only be coming in 2022 but by the looks of this line up, we will have plenty of Marvel content to keep us busy in the mean time.
