Introduction

SUPES: “My name is Supes and I am 18 years young. In 2018 I started creating content based on the thing that I love, which is superheroes. Growing up as a kid school was never really my thing. So, I had the beautiful realization that we live in a day and age where you can make money doing anything. Doing the things you love no matter how “silly” it can be.

Whether that’s talking about superheroes on a YouTube channel or whatever the case may be. You can make money, you can make a living doing what lights your soul on fire. My passion for Superheroes is something that I’ve had since day one so I thought it was only a matter of time that I created this type of content.”

Why Superheroes?

SUPES: ” What I love most about superheroes is that they are so relatable. I mean sometimes these characters are literal Gods yet they are humanized through the problems and conflicts that they face.

A lot of people have Spider-man as their favorite superhero because they relate to him the most. Spider-man has such human problems such as bills, girl problems, balancing being Spider-man and a full time student. So many problems that we all share that are in common with these superheroes. And Spider-man is only one character.

Every single superhero has different problems that we can all relate to and that’s what I love most about them. We can then look at that and be inspired to overcome these same problems in our own lives.”

What got you into Superheroes?

SUPES: “So I’ve loved superheroes since I took my very first breath on this earth. As a baby everyone gravitates towards something. You crawl towards something and when I was a baby I gravitated towards this Spider-man blanket and those Superman toys.

Then I would also connect to these characters with television and movies because my Grandfather would sit me down and we’d watch the old Christopher Reeves’ Superman movies, and the old Michael Keaton Batman films. We all remember those Saturday morning cartoons when we would ambitiously wake up as a excited kids waiting to see an episode of the 1990’s animated Spider-man series or the Batman animated series or the Superman animated series. As a kid being born in the early 2000’s there were so many awesome Superhero cartoons on the small screen. Then as the Marvel and DC movies started to come out my affinity and love for these characters grew even more as they made their entrance onto the big screen.”

Marvel or DC – which do you prefer?

SUPES: “This is probably the question I get asked the most. When it comes to Marvel and DC I cannot pick one. This is literally like asking a parent to pick their favorite child. You know, you have 2 kids, you love them both just as much but you love them in different ways. Marvel does some things better than DC. DC does some things better than Marvel. I just love them both in their own unique ways.”

Who is your favorite Superhero?

SUPES - Matthew Ramos

SUPES: “My favorite Superhero is definitely Superman as I grew up watching the old Christopher Reeves’ Superman movies. Often times our favorite superhero comes down to who we relate to the most and Superman was that superhero for me.

Growing up as a kid with the condition that I was born with – a condition that saw my arms, hands and another side of my body grow to extremely large, and not ordinary levels, I was ashamed of the way I looked. I was bullied in school. I felt like I was an alien the same way that Clark Kent felt like he was an alien growing up with the powers that he had. But the day came in my life that I viewed this “curse” as the power that it always was. The things that make me different as the powers that God blessed me with. And yeah, I was born with big hands but in my head God blessed my with big hands so that I could lend the biggest helping hand to those people out there that are ashamed of the things that make them different.

So that’s why Superman is my favorite superhero. Because there came a day when Clark realized that the things that made him different are a gift that he was blessed with in order to become the greatest superhero of all time. In my head, in the real world, the things that make us different are the gifts that we were given to become the greatest versions of ourselves.”

What is your favorite superhero movie?

SUPES: “When it comes to my favorite superhero movie of all time it is definitely Avengers Endgame. I was addicted to going to see this movie. I saw it in theaters 18 times! Three of those times were on a single cruise. That just goes to how how much I loved this movie and how much I loved going to see it.

18 times sounds like a lot but I don’t regret one second of it because ultimately this was a movie that you could watch in theaters and have it be a rock concert. Watching it at home is a much different experience. So going to the movie theater to watch a movie that concluded the story of the MCU so perfectly – It gave us so many amazing moments that we waited years for! Having seen the way fans reacted, I don’t regret one second of it for going to see it 18 times!”

If you could have 1 super power, what would it be?

SUPES: “If I could have one super power it would definitely be super speed. I feel like super speed checks all the boxes because you have traversal, you also have combat because if you’re running super fast and then you hot something that also generates a lot of force. Technically you have super strength at the same time. So, I’d definitely super speed if I could only choose one.”

Who is your favorite Villain?

SUPES: “My favorite villain isn’t such an obvious choice. My favorite villain of all time is Magneto. Magneto is such a deep deep character. His origin story takes place during the holocaust. His parents were killed during the holocaust. He’s one of the most powerful Villains of all time. I love him so much because there are so many layers to his character. He’s not just another villain that wants to take over the world. His motivations are so understandable and so relatable. That’s why he’s my favorite Villain.”

Anything you’d like to add?

SUPES:”Don’t just go out there and love superheroes. Go out there and become your own superhero. These characters were created for us to learn from. They make mistakes but they come back from their mistakes. The overcome their problems. We only have one life. Every single one of us has something different we can bring to the table. We all have different gifts. We have a responsibility to use what we have to make a difference in the world. To make other peoples lives better. Go out there and be a hero for the people around you and make an impact in other peoples lives because who are we if we don’t leave the world in a better place than we found it.”
