Something happened this week that fans never thought they would see. All three Spider-man actors were interviewed together about playing the character in the same movie. Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland spoke with Deadline about their experiences on the set of Spider-man No Way Home and what the character means to them.
Interestingly, Maguire even hinted that it may not be the last we will see of his portrayal of Spider-man.
Will Tobey Maguire play Spider-man again?
During the interview with Deadline, here is what Tobey Maguire had to say on playing Peter Parker again in No Way Home:
I’m not quite sure how to put it. It’s just to get to get back into that and I don’t want to say like close the chapter… But revisit and have certain resolutions and just join in this loving creative spirit”
Not to read too much into it (which we definitely are going to do), it sounds like Maguire may be coming back again. Saying it doesn’t “close the chapter” hints that the OG Peter Parker may know more than he is letting on. If true, when exactly fans might see his return is anyone’s guess. Doctor Strange 2 and a Secret Wars movie have both been touted, however those are just rumors for now.
There are also rumblings that due to the success of Spider-man No Way Home, Sony want to do an entire movie with all three Spider-man actors present from start to finish.
